As a student mentor in animation using Adobe Animate, I had the privilege of guiding fellow students in unlocking their creative potential. AVITA: A Room for Improvement, Unlocked, organized by SWITS, was not just a workshop; it was an opportunity to inspire and empower others to embrace their skills and passion for animation.
On April 26, 2022, I had the honor of being a student mentor for the Adobe Animate workshop at the AVITA: A Room for Improvement, Unlocked event, organized by the Society for the Welfare of Information Technology Students (SWITS). This online workshop was part of the CICT Days 2022, and I was thrilled to be a part of this initiative that sought to elevate students’ skills in Adobe Suite, a critical tool for creatives in today’s digital age. Along with Mr. Glenn Angel Polangco, SWITS’ Vice President for Finance, we guided participants through the fundamentals of Adobe Animate, helping them understand the interface and its tools. I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the SWITS organization for trusting me with this role, and to all the mentors and participants who contributed to making this event a success.
“The key to unlocking your potential is not in the tools you have, but in the creativity and passion you bring to them.”
This experience taught me the invaluable lesson that knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. By guiding others through Adobe Animate, I realized that mentorship is not only about teaching technical skills but also inspiring confidence and passion in others to explore and create. The quote reflects my belief that with the right mindset, even the simplest tools can unlock extraordinary potential.
As I continue my journey towards personal growth, this experience has reinforced my belief that teaching and helping others is one of the most fulfilling ways to grow. It has inspired me to keep exploring new creative avenues and pushing myself to be better. More importantly, this experience can inspire others to step into mentorship roles and give back to their communities. It’s through teaching and supporting each other that we truly grow.
